DEPRESSION- SUICIDE

This motivation for today's writing comes from the person who "tried" to commit SUICIDE yesterday by throwing their body in front of a moving train, only to survive and get stuck under the train for countless hours. Which then in turn disrupted hundreds of people commute home that depends on the metro rail system. My 35 minute commute ending up being a 3.5 hrs....not to mention that I walked for about an hour while begging my legs pls don't fail me now...LOL

Yes most of us go thru depression every once in awhile it is NORMAL. Depression can stem from many things:: loss of a loved one's life, self esteem issues, everyday struggles that we all face, roller coaster ride that I call relationship. So we go thru feelings of loneliness & sadness, there is a saying "GOD NEVER GIVES YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN MANAGE" I've been there where I have sat a questioned GOD as to what have I done to deserve this and then turn around and make promises to never to do & so again.

There are different signs for Depression, and if one knows they have these feelings lasting for periods at a time they should definately go see a medical specialist. Even though I have been witness to someone suffering but they mask it so well, and to me that has only lead to deeper issues within.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, symptoms of depression may include the following:
  • difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions
  • fatigue and decreased energy
  • feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness
  • feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism
  • insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping
  • irritability, restlessness
  • loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex
  • overeating or appetite loss
  • persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that do not ease even with treatment
  • persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" feelings
  • thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts

  1. illness and I have learned never to judge someone for taking their life or attempting to. You NEVER know what's going on in someone's life. Some people can not handle the pressures of life and feel like the only way to stop the suffering is to end it. It's sad that so many serious cases go untreated because people are afraid to seek professional help.
