Anamu kills cancer cells - Laboratory investigations show that anamu retards the growth of several strains of cancer and leukemia cells. In a plant screening programme performed at the University of Illinois at Chicago, more than 1,400 plant extracts were evaluated for the prevention and treatment of cancer. Anamu was one of only 34 plants identified with active properties specifically against cancer
Anamu fights infections - It demonstrates broad spectrum antimicrobial properties against numerous bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeast. Compounds in anamu directly kill and or inhibits the growth of these germs. Interestingly, many alternative medicine practitioners believe that infection plays a major role in many cancers. Anamu is widely used in folk medicine for treating infections.
Anamu relieves pain - Its traditional use as a remedy for arthritis and rheumatism has been validated by clinical research that confirms its pain relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. Researchers in Sweden demonstrated its COX-1 inhibitory properties (cyclooxogenase-1 inhibitors are a new class of popular and profitable arthritis drugs). Anamu extracts have been found to relieve pain and inflammation even when applied topically to the skin.
Anamu lowers blood sugar - While anamu has not been widely researched for diabetes, it had been documented to lower blood sugar levels by more than 60 per cent in laboratory animals. This reflects herbal medical practice in Cuba where anamu has been used as an aid for diabetes for many years.
Contradictions to anamu
Anamu has been found to cause contractions of the uterus that can lead to abortions and miscarriages. As such, it should not be used by pregnant women.
Anamu contains a low concentration of a blood thinner called coumadin. People with any bleeding disorder like hemophilia or who are on blood thinning medication should consult their health-care provider before using anamu.

DEPRESSION- SUICIDE
This motivation for today's writing comes from the person who "tried" to commit SUICIDE yesterday by throwing their body in front of a moving train, only to survive and get stuck under the train for countless hours. Which then in turn disrupted hundreds of people commute home that depends on the metro rail system. My 35 minute commute ending up being a 3.5 hrs....not to mention that I walked for about an hour while begging my legs pls don't fail me now...LOL
Yes most of us go thru depression every once in awhile it is NORMAL. Depression can stem from many things:: loss of a loved one's life, self esteem issues, everyday struggles that we all face, roller coaster ride that I call relationship. So we go thru feelings of loneliness & sadness, there is a saying "GOD NEVER GIVES YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN MANAGE" I've been there where I have sat a questioned GOD as to what have I done to deserve this and then turn around and make promises to never to do & so again.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, symptoms of depression may include the following:

There are different signs for Depression, and if one knows they have these feelings lasting for periods at a time they should definately go see a medical specialist. Even though I have been witness to someone suffering but they mask it so well, and to me that has only lead to deeper issues within.

BEYONCE BEING SUED FOR STEALING DANCE MOVES
In my opinion dance moves are always copied/duplicated...there is a saying imitation is the best form of flattery. I am far from a Beyonce fan but I do respect her as a YOUNG successful woman...except for her HPUSE of DEREON line that has really flopped LOL.....so you be the judge

It is not the first time that Beyonce has been accused of borrowing dance moves, according to The Times. Two years ago she admitted that moves in the video for "Single Ladies"
Belgian dancer-choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, one of the biggest names in modern dance, believes the pregnant American star has clearly plagiarized her work.
"I didn't know anything about this. I'm not mad, but this is plagiarism. This is stealing," Keersmaeker told a Danish blog, according to The (London) Times.
"What's rude about it is that they don't even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it's a famous work ... Am I honored? Look, I've seen local school kids doing this. That's a lot more beautiful."

ORAL SEX LINKED TO CANCER
Increase in oral cancers linked to HPV
The human papillomavirus is contributing to the growing number of head and neck cancers in the United States, according to a new study Monday in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
The study found that the number of cases of oropharyngeal cancer - cancers of the tonsil, back of the mouth (throat) and base of the tongue - has been on the rise since the mid-1980s. The study suggests that one reason could an increase in the number of people having oral sex resulting in oral human papillomavirus exposure.Researchers say these cancers fall into two categories–those caused by tobacco and alcohol and those caused by the sexually transmitted virus, HPV. They now believe approximately 70% of all oropharyngeal cancers are caused by HPV infection.

CERASSE TEA
Got a phone call early this morning and I hear my friend sipping on something and I asked what u drinking and he replied some CERASSE I instantly replied YUCK in my show of dismay. I remember when my uncle and them used to make us drink that along with some other bush teas but that was just that worst. With them being rasta everything NATURAL was good for us. Not a sip I would take I think I did mine in huge gulps along with holding my breath to hurry up and finish LOL. I'm sitting here wondering why I didn't do the same things to my kids but its still not to late *insert evil grin*
In the above picture you can see the seeds, if I'm not mistaking if taking by a pregnant woman can cause miscarriages/abortion
There are many other health attributions to this bush tea. For instance when I took my kids to Jamaica one yr the mosquitoes were not kind at all to one of my twins she had severe reactions to their bites which turned out into massive sores and I remember them putting here in a pan and giving her a bath with the vines/leaves to heal them. My husband at the time daughter had eczema and they gave her a bath with it also.
My father drank it for his high blood pressure and diabetes. To my knowledge it's good for constipation and also to clean you out after having baby by helping the body to promote discharge.

TIME LIMIT ON EVERYTHING
How soon after knowing a guy/woman do u share the encounter (have sex) How long do u have to be dating before it becomes serious? How long do u have to be dating before ur intorduced to the family/friends? How long do u have to be dating before u live with each other? How long do u have to know each other before u get married? How long do u have to know each other before u have a baby?
Society has placed a time limit/stigma on relationships...yesterday while chilling on my staycaion I picked up he latest issue of a Tabloid magazine (I do NOT read these things, but it was on the persons coffee table) on the front cover was a pic of Jennifer Aniston & her new beau asking if she is pregnant. So I flipped to the inside and read the article in which it stated she has only been with him for 5mths. I then said so fucking what jeez um....I'm like my goodness who gives a rats ass suppose she did waan breed after 1mth that's on her/him. The claim is a cover story on this week’s issues of Star, Life & Style and In Touch magazines. In all fairness, Aniston has been spotted in recent weeks sporting some loose fitting shirts, and appearing quite happy, which has fueled speculation that she’s pregnant. tabloid magazine
I remember when Ricky Lake was a top talk show host and some controversy was made cause she married her husband after knowing him only for 5mths. Me personally saw nothing wrong with that. Yes they are now divorced but they sure did spend a good amount of years together and shared kids.
I was once talking to an older lady now in her 60's and she told me how she met her husband of 40+ years. While walking home one day a car pulled up and asked if she wanted a ride she took him up on his offer and he took her for a drink first and then they went to another location and had sex...I had a look of amazement on my face and asked so soon and u just met him a couple of hours o__O and she answered me and said it was her first time doing something like that. She never saw the man again cause he didn't live in the country, but little over a yr later he showed up at her gate/house and asked her to marry him cause he could not get her out of his mind. She took him up on his offer and which she told me she has never had no REGRETS!!
So how can one put a time limit on love & happiness. EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

DOUBLE DUTCH (JUMP ROPE)
Basically, Double Dutch is a rope skipping exercise played when two ropes are turned in eggbeater fashion. While the ropes are turned, a third person jumps within
In these dog days of summer, growing up in New York my favourite passtime was to jump double dutch with my best friend Denielle and some other neighborhood girls. Now in my still young age (36) not one rope I can witness twirling in the neighborhoods. Cause if I did surely glimpse one I would quickly park and ask for a few jumps in return of me doing a turn of the ropes also. I don't even know where the kids go during the summer, except for the privileged ones that can afford camps/ or the under priveleged ones that receive some sort of voucher to attend camps. Now a days kids are cooped up in the damn house on some sort of technology driven activity getting no form of physical excercise, eating all the damn food and making a mess of the house....oh yes I'm taking about mine they surely pushing my buttons daily.
Long donkey years ago we would beg the telephone man for some wire to twirl as our rope. Which they all glady gace us. In these future times I dont even spot a verizon technician. I really hope in the near future I can teach my 10 yr old twins, and 16 yr old this fine art of jumping on concrete and twirling till your arms feel like it's gonna pop off
LOL
HISTORY::
traces the probable origins to ancient Phoenician, Egyptian and Chinese ropemakers. They plied their craft at ropewalks - spaces 900 feet or more in length - usually near seaports. With a bunch of hemp around their waists and two strands attached to the wheel, the ropemakers walked backwards, twisting the rope into uniformity. As the runners traveled the cluttered floors supplying the spinners with hemp, they had to jump the twisting rope. To make their deliveries, they needed quick feet, lithe bodies and good eye perception.

It is possible that at these ancient rope-works the basic framework of Double Dutch evolved. In all likelihood, the rope spinners, runners and their families patched together a leisure time activity from their work. The strand-over-strand turning movement of the spinners, the footwork of the runners evolved into the game. Thereafter, it was passed from generation to generation.
—
The Dutch settlers brought the game to the Hudson River trading town of New Amsterdam (now New York City). When the English arrived and saw the children playing their game, they called it Double Dutch. The game has since grown over the years, particularly in urban areas. It became a favorite pastime to sing rhymes while turning and jumping. During World War II, the game was often played on the sidewalks of New York. By the late 1950s the radio music boom dominated urban America and the lack of recreational areas in close proximity to apartment buildings had made the game nearly extinct.

If......Friend
If were not able to inspire, motivate, uplift each other then what kind of friend are u
If my kids dont know u by ur name then ur not a friend eg. Kids Mommy going out with Leslie..Kids response to me Who's that???
If my pocketbook not safe around u then ur not a friend.
If Im goin to be nervous with u around my man...then HELLS no ur not a friend #gofigure
If u cant come to my house and vice versa then ur not a friend
If u borrow my ride and bring it back on E...then ur a THOUGHTLESS friend
If there is a simple disagreement/misunderstanding then communication stops with one of us asking, "damnm what happened". Then u was not a REAL friend.
But if I can count on u thru thick and thin, be that listening ear that also offers up unbias criticism when needs be. I will cherish u as a FRIEND!!

BRIGHTER DAYS ARE AHEAD....THX FOR BLESSINGS
10 Yrs ago was my son Javon's (now 14) last chemo @ Johns Hopkins Hospital, he was diagnosed with Wilms tumor/ at the tender age of 2...that story in itself would have to come at a later date. In February of this yr a girlfriend of mine 4 yr old daughter was diagnosed with the same cancer which has made my son Javon silently start worrying about his health. He even asked me if it wasn't time for him to get a chk-up which I scheduled along with his annual chest X-ray.
Dr. Friedman gave us the good news stating that his Xray showed no signs of tumors and from here on out he would not need anymore nor CT scans...just his regular chk ups and follow ups to show any signs of damage from the chemo
Oh he had a smile on his face, then the doctor gave him a list of activities to stay away from: boxing, tackle football, sky diving, bungee cord diving...poor doctor don't even know that the boy is not like other teen boys (meaning no sort of adventure).
This goes to show that having faith and prayer from all angles do work!! he had all of these inside of him also along with family & friends. just had a flashback of him standing in church and testifying when he was only 10yrs old.
Now to get him more focused on his school work and not thinking he's goin to the NBA. He lives, eat, sleep and dreams of b-ball.

The act of revenge....how far is to far
On 7/11 in Garden Grove, California a 47yr old woman drugged her estranged husband tied him to the bed, cut off his penis with a large knife and then threw it down a garbage disposal and turned it on!! She called 911 to report a medical emergency and confessed to the crime at hand. Its not like she had a choice the husband woke up and saw her attacking him with the 10 inch blade
I can only imagine what lead her to take such drastic measures...but my gosh there has to be some sort of cut off (pun intended) where u snap bk to reality and just leave the situation. I know easier said than done.
